Mood-Boards
In order to provide a springboard of ideas for the designer to assist in developing the event's first draft of print & digital assets, formulating a mood-board to inspire and portray the overall theme is key. Taking into consideration the collaborative brainstorming discussions with the organizing team and co-chairs, I develop the mood-board to set the creative direction.

A Collaborative Creative Process
Leading the development of digital & print content means delivering a visual style that captivates audiences & embraces the platform to discuss innovative & emerging ideas. With PKN 29, the brand new Triffo Theatre in the Allard Hall was the prime venue that reflected Pecha Kucha Night's initiative to provide a platform to uncover a city's creativity. The Allard Hall serves as Grant MacEwan University's new Fine Arts building.

The visual aesthetic carries over across all creative deliverables.

Canada's 150th
Pecha Kucha Night 28 celebrated the 150th anniversary of Canada, also known as the 150th anniversary of
Confederation. The creative direction was set to mould a design that was quintessentially Edmonton/Alberta, not too influenced on the massive commercial advertising for Canada’s 150th celebrations, and spoke on the points below.
1. Reaffirming and renewing relations: Indigenous and settler perspectives on relocations
2. Building a diverse and inclusive nation
3. Engaging youth
4. Sustaining our environment

Winter Cities Collaboration
The creative direction set for Pecha Kucha Night 27 was to incorporate a playful winter themed design philosophy to complement the Winter Cities Conference/ Shake Up. Using some of Edmonton's iconic monuments and buildings in an artistically fun manner further promoted the theme of the event and alluded to the topics presented.
From the digital and print poster, social media channels, to presentations slides, helping lead the creation of assets with a consistent design language across the board was the objective.
Audience Reception
Every succeeding Pecha Kucha Night in Edmonton has increasingly attracted more passionate & enthusiastic speakers. Not only have the creative deliverables caught the attention of Edmonton's culturally diverse community for mind opening discussions, but they have also increased the platform's brand awareness.
